Mr. Robert Lee Whittington, Sr., 96, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas.
Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Whittington will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1395 Gladys Street in Beaumont, Texas 77701. A public viewing for Mr. Whittington will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. and Friday, July 11, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Mercy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial Service to follow at Anthony Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas. For your safety social distancing and facial masks are recommended.

Robert Lee Whittington, Sr., was born on February 5, 1928 in Beaumont, Texas to the Union ofDavis Whittington and Lettie Cooper Whittington.He was formally educated in Beaumont, Texas. He later married the love of his life Aretha Mary Jones in 1946. To this union were Myrna, Robert Jr., Wendall, Archie, Cleveland, Beverly. They were married for 48 years.Robert Lee provided for his family while working in the construction field and being a maintenance supervisor at Union 76. While running his own business. Robert Lee enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and preparing them for the things that this world had to offer.Robert Lee was a Loving and dedicated husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,uncle, cousin, and friend he will truly be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Robert LeeRobert Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Davis and Lettie Whittington, wife Aretha Whittington, daughter, Myrna Allison; son, Wendell "Curtis" Whittington; grandson, Freddie Williams, Cleveland WhittingtonJr.; siblings, Archie Whittington, Clarence Whittington, Henry Whittington, Vessel Whittington, Lynell Whittington, Sr., Nettie Whittington-Griffin, Eula Mae Whittington-Davis, Laura Bell Whittington-Green, and Ethel Lee Whittington Petry. He departed his earthly life and entered intohis eternal life on Thursday, July 4, 2024 surrounded by his devoted family.Left to Cherish his memories and advance his legacy of love and compassion his sons, RobertWhittington, Jr., Archie Whittington, Sr., Cleveland Whittington, Sr. and his daughter, Beverly Whittington; Robert Lee had twenty-two grandkids; forty-eight great-grandkids, and forty-eightgreat-great grandkids that will truly miss him; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
