I am always going to remember Doc Z & think of him often, especially how kind he was. Christine, do you remember Doc, yourself, Don & I drinking champagne at the office at midnight at the first War Memorial address. I remember him following someone to the dump in his suit, old pick up & the dog trying to see if a fence a man was taking there was in good enough shape for us to use. KICKAPOO - Dr. Robert Rae Zinser, 67, of Kickapoo, Ill., passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 10:26 a.m., peacefully at his home. Robert was born on March 21, 1947, in Peoria, Ill., to Rae C. and Thelma Rose (Heinz) Zinser. He married Christine E. (Barth) Zinser on Jan. 4, 1969, at St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo.He was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his wife, Christine; his son, Robert Rae, Jr. (Mamie) Zinser; and daughters, Jennipher (Mark) Vorhees, Drs. Katherine (Joshua) Barnewolt and Kelly (Kenny) Bizosky. He had nine grandchildren, Madelaine Rose Zinser, Tyler Vorhees, Charlie Vorhees, Lillian Rose Zinser, Robert Zinser, Ethan Barnewolt, Edith Rose Barnewolt, Cleveland Bizosky and Grant Bizosky. He is also survived by two brothers, Tom Zinser (Jody) and Jim (Sheila) Zinser; sister-in-law, Patricia Forquer; and many nieces and nephews.Robert graduated from Spalding Institute in 1965 and Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport, Iowa) in 1971. He was very proud to serve the Peoria area as a chiropractor for 41 years. He was a member of the Illinois Prairie State Chiropractic Association and St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo. He was a well respected member of his community, volunteering his time and talents in numerous projects and events throughout his beloved town of Kickapoo. His impact on so many unknown people to his family is an inspiration. We are grateful for all the many lives he has touched and how much he was loved.Bob loved his farm, his cows and tinkering in his workshop. He was a licensed pilot and loved his days of flying, speaking of it often over the last few years. His Colorado hunting trips over the years with his son and very close friends were his ultimate source of relaxation, also contributing to his love of photography and the mountains. His greatest joys were his grandchildren and his dogs, Annie and Gunner.Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Parish Hall in Kickapoo, Ill. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kickapoo with visitation one hour prior. Father Joseph Donton will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo.In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Mary's School in Kickapoo, Ill.Funeral arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Wright and Salmon Mortuary.
