Born May 25, 1959 in Corpus Cristi, TX at the Naval Air Station Hopspital.He lived in Corpus Cristi, TX twice, Norfolk, VA, Millington, TN, Alameda, San Jose and Fresno, CA all before he was 12 years old. As an adult he lived in the Philippine Island, Arkansas, Washington and Porterville.He had a beautiful voice and starred in the play "Oliver" when he was in Jr. High School. He loved music, he loved singing and listening to it. Another passion was cooking. He went to culinary school and worked in many restaurants in Fresno and Porterville. He especially took pleasure in cooking for his family.He was in the Navy and belonged to the California Conservation Corp. He did volunteer work with different organizations. He trained to be a CNA.His 2 greatest pleasures in life were his family and the Lord. He enjoyed the fellowship of Porterville First Baptist Church, Man Alive and Iron Men.He is survived by 5 children: Amber Simpson (Fresno), Carl Espey, Roberta Simpson, Serena Simpson and Michael Simpson. His life partner Sheryl Espey; grandmother Bernice Davis; mother Janet Rhoades (all of Porterville), 3 sisters: Tamra McManus (Avinger, TX), Kendra Mathis (Fresno), Ginnie Tillery and a Brother Joshua Vires (Porterville). He has 5 grandchildren, his father Robert Simpson Sr. (Avinger, TX), aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.On December 16, 2015 he went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord.A memorial service was held on December 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Porterville, CA.He is well loved and will be greatly missed.
