Roberta's Obituary

 Roberta Grimes was born on May 1, 1927, to Austin and Marie Winston in Clarksdale, Mississippi. On January 11, 2026, Roberta was called home to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by loved ones as she peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly rest.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Grimes; her parents, Austin and Marie Winston; her children, Earline Coleman, Barbara Johnson, Jacqueline Love, Betty Love, and John Faulkner; her brothers, Ozzell Martin, Eddie Martin, and Nathaniel Winston; and her sister, Ruthie Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory seven children: daughters, Gloria (Oscar) Hopkins of Gary, Indiana, and Marianne Acon of Fridley, Minnesota; sons, Percy (Carol) Love, Jr. of Gary, Indiana, Aaron (Tracie) Love of Gary, Indiana, Derrich (Robin) Love of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Thomas and Kenneth Grimes of Gary, Indiana; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
