Roberto Gonzalez Torres

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roberto Gonzalez Torres, age 48, who left this world far too soon. He was the beloved husband of Carleen Torres, and a cherished son of Roberto and Luz Gonzalez.

Roberto was a devoted brother to Juana, Marisol, Maribel, Hugo, and Juan Manuel, and a proud, loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was also a caring brother-in-law, a cousin to many, and a true friend to countless others who were fortunate enough to know him.

A skilled mechanic by trade and by passion, Roberto found joy in working on cars—especially his favorite, the Ford Mustang, with a particular love for the Shelby line. His dedication and talent in his craft reflected the same qualities he carried throughout his life: hard work, loyalty, and pride in everything he did.

Roberto’s presence brought light, laughter, and strength to those around him. His family and friends will forever remember his generous heart, his hardworking spirit, and the deep love he gave to those he held close.

He will be profoundly missed, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Visitation, Saturday, August 30, 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Service beginning at 6:00 p.m., Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave. Chicago. Interment will be held privately.
