Thinking of the Clendening family during this incredibly hard time! Robin made such a difference at Wellington Elementary when our school opened 14 years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hayden and family

Rob,I’m so sorry you are hurting. We know your Robin is no longer in pain, that her body is healthy now. Those words are true, but they aren’t completely healing. Your sharp pains of grieving will not get better as some say, they get different! And that sharp pain will dull, letting you feel the good memories deeper, over the pain. ❤

Robin Lynette (Little) Clendening of Avon, Indiana, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, died peacefully Friday morning, November 22, 2024, at the age of 50 following an inspirational battle with cancer.
Robin was born May 20, 1974, in Indianapolis to Darrel Little and Sadie (Wilson) Little. She spent her early childhood growing up in Speedway, Indiana, and later moved to Monrovia, Indiana where she graduated top-10 in her class from Monrovia High School in 1992. While in high school, she was a member of the “Monrovia Magic” show choir. She attended The Indiana University Kelley School of Business where she graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1996, and subsequently earned her CPA license.
Robin’s career was characterized by impact across multiple industries and personal connections. She started as a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Indianapolis, before moving into corporate accounting as assistant controller at Automotive Finance Corporation in Indianapolis. She invested her skills as a full-time mom for several years and then transitioned back to corporate roles as accounting services manager with the Livesay Group in Lexington, Ky., controller for the YMCA of Central Kentucky, also in Lexington, Ky., and later as manager of financial operations with the IU Health Pathology Lab in Indianapolis. In 2019, she became vice president and chief financial officer at Music for All in Indianapolis, where she helped successfully guide the organization through the uncertainty of the Covid Pandemic. Earlier in 2024, Robin became a consultant with Christy Paddock Advisors in Indianapolis, where she served until the later stages of her medical treatment.
Robin married Rob Clendening on June 10, 1995, after meeting as McDonald’s employees while students at Indiana University. They were married for more than 29 years. Robin cherished being a mom and they raised two children, Ren and Hayden Clendening.
Robin was known as a passionate school volunteer and a prolific and creative crafter. She was always quick to invest time to support schools and programs for Ren and Hayden, including being a member of the PTA, a Girl Scout troop leader, and member of the Avon High School Choral Boosters. Robin helped spearhead an effort to win an award from Pepsi to fund a playground for Wellington Elementary School in Lexington, Ky., during which she and another PTA mom spent weeks digging through the local landfill to secure more bottlecaps. More recently, she spent several years supporting the Avon High School choir program by leading the silent auction fundraiser, the branded merchandise program, and being part of the parent backstage crew. Robin enjoyed numerous craft hobbies over the years and was always learning new skills and creating all manner of handcrafted items. Jewelry making, sewing, scrapbooking, crochet, stamping, custom vinyl, sublimation, and laser printing were just some of the hobbies she enjoyed. Robin recently started a side business called Personalized Crafted Creations to feature many of her handmade items.
Despite her reputation as a crafter and volunteer, Robin’s true legacy is that of devoted and loving wife, passionate and nurturing mom, and faithful follower of Jesus. Robin and Rob attended Traders Point Christin Church in Plainfield, Indiana, and had previously attended Westbridge Church in Danville, Indiana. Robin’s faith was never more evident than during her battle with cancer where she maintained a positive outlook and remarkable faith characterized by the words “even if,” inspired by Daniel 3:14-18. Robin believed, and often shared with others, that she was asking God to heal her, but even if he did not, she would trust in his greater plan and ask for strength and comfort.
Robin was preceded in death by her father Darrel Little, and is survived by her husband Rob and their children Ren and Hayden, mother Sadie Little, brother Dwayne Little, and numerous extended family members and cherished friends.
The family will hold a visitation at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon, Indiana, Tuesday, November 26, 4pm – 8pm, and the funeral service at Westbridge Church in Danville, Indiana, Wednesday, November 27, at 11am, with a visitation period at 10am. As an alternative to flowers, donations to the Avon High School Choral Boosters are encouraged.
