Known for her sparkling, mischievous eyes and a sassy wit that could liven up any room, she never met a stranger-only friends she hadn't yet met. She possessed a tough-as-nails strength, tempered by a heart that loved deeply and fiercely.
She was a devoted and loving wife, a fierce mother who treasured her children entirely and endlessly, a loyal and adored sibling, a feisty and precious Nana, and the vibrant matriarch of her tribe, whose lessons on strength and love are forever stamped on the soul of her family.
Lavon is survived by her husband, Phillip Maynard; daughters, Anita (Anthony) Hawks of Springville, Vicki (Randy) Martin of Liberty, Penny (Don) Staats of Watertown; numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Blessed with a beautiful voice, she never met a microphone she didn't love, and she could turn any gathering into a celebration with her song. She walked through life with profound confidence yet remarkable humility, serving as a pillar of empathy and kindness to all who knew her.
Most importantly, she was a child of God who loved and trusted her Savior, ensuring her children knew Him as well. She and Phillip attended Adams Ave. Church of Christ. She taught her family to be thankful for "just enough", especially when times were difficult, sickness hit, or sorrow was present, finding blessing in the simple grace of having "just enough". Now, she is singing His praise with the angels, enjoying more than she ever dreamed in the arms of her loving Father. Her purpose was fulfilled and now, finally her up is full of "more than enough".
