Roger was my childhood friend growing up in Aflex, Kentucky. We always kept in touch and remained close throughout the years. I will miss my dear friend, but know he’s with the Lord. Love ya Roger and will miss you dearly.

Rest in peace my dear cousin n friend. I've always loved you! I will miss you much! Thank you for being there for me.

Roger's Obituary

Roger Dale Birchfield, 76 of Fairborn, OH, formerly of Ransom, KY, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2026, at the Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, OH. Roger was born on August 20,1949 in South Williamson, KY, the son of the late McKinley Birchfield and Minnie Birchfield. Roger was also preceded in death by his wife, Nina Sue Birchfield and sisters, Bonnie and Elaine Birchfield. Roger was a former welder having worked for DT & I railroad and Rectron. Roger was also very involved with the Pinsonfork Church of God until he was unable to be. He was a devout Christian and spent most of his time spreading the word of God.

Survivors include his children, Charles Michael Vinson, Amy (Matt) Wireman of Greenup, KY and Angela (Michael) Benchic of Dayton, OH; his grandchildren, Monika Chavez, Joshua (Katelynn) Chavez and Andrew (Whitney) Birchfield; his great-grandchildren, Elam Chavez. Ellavyve Chavez, Alaina Birchfield, Alexis Lambert, Gage Lambert, and Cameron Lambert. Roger also leaves behind two special family members, Nathan Spence and Joseph Sturm.

Following Roger’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY is serving the Birchfield family. Online condolences may be made at rerogersfh.com.
