Obituary

Roger's Obituary

Roger Brown, age 67 of Nappanee, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, August 22, 2025 at his residence.  He was born on January 31, 1958 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Ernest A. and Viva A. (Yenser) Brown. The Brown family moved to Nappanee when Roger was little and he lived the rest of his life in Nappanee.  On August 14, 1976, Roger married the love of his life and his high school sweetheart, Kathy Myers, in Nappanee. Roger worked throughout his life as a diesel mechanic, following in his father’s footsteps and working for Fidler’s.  He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to fish and hunt.  He enjoyed camping and being in nature.  In his younger years, Roger enjoyed bowling at Gold Crown Lanes in Nappanee.  He loved to tinker in the shop and helped build race cars for local racers.  Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and friend.  Roger is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Kathy Brown of Nappanee; a son, Jeremy (Kate) Brown of Tacoma, WA; a grandson, Sean Brown of Tacoma, WA; 4 siblings: Dennis Brown of Nappanee, Pamela Zentz of Nappanee, Lynn (Tim) LeCount of Nappanee, and Deb Krankiak of Palmyra, TN.  Roger was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Brown; and a brother, Michael Brown.  Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.  A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Brethren in Christ Church, Nappanee.  Memorial contributions in Roger’s name can be given to the American Heart Association.
