Fred was first our tenant at 6757 Wandering Way. He was always reliable about paying the rent on time and took very good care of the property. He asked frequently about the possibility of buying the house. When we were ready to sell, we worked out a special deal for a great guy. Fred was so happy at the closing--the house was finally his and he could fix it up the way he wanted. We were so sorry to learn that he also died there. I developed a friendship with Fred as the neighborhood school bus driver. He would have his garage open to the kids catching the bus to keep them out of bad weather, sometimes he would fix the kids hot chocolate or give them something for breakfast. On Holidays I would always make sure to give him the same goodie bags as I would give the kids as well as he would send me a goodie with one of the kids from time to time. He gave the kids the opportunity to make some spending money by having them...

Roger's Obituaries

Roger (Fred) Farmer 58 passed away in 2021. He was born November 07, 1962, in Indianapolis, IN the son of Roger Sr. and Sharon Farmer.

Roger was a wonderful man, a helpful son, a caring brother, a loving father and grandfather, and a supportive friend. You could find Roger in his garage, spending time with his beloved dog Tosha, hanging out in the woods, fishing with the kids, or at the American Legion. Roger was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with the neighborhood kids. He was retired from GM Motors, a member of the American Legion Post 64, and a proud Veteran of the US Air Force. 

He is survived by his mother Sharon Farmer, sisters Tami Benge(Cory), Jennifer Farmer, and brother Jim Farmer. Roger has a son, two daughters Tricia and Christina Farmer; 4 grandchildren Hanna (16), Janssen(15), Aubri(12), and Braelynn(3); 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 1 step-niece, and 1 step-nephew. 

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday May 22, 2021 at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel.
