Roland Winford Marsh, Jr., 83, of Yorktown, Va, formally of Gloucester, passed away on Friday, May 17th, 2024. He was born in Baltimore, Md and was the son of the late Roland, Sr. and Doris Marsh. He was the widower of Judith Lee Marsh and Donna Marsh. He was a former member of Salem United Methodist Church in Gloucester, Va. and also a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Poquoson, Va, where he was a strong supporter of the Open Door Service. He was also a member of Botetourt Masonic Lodge #7 AF & AM.
He was retired from the Social Security Adminstation in Woodlawn, Md in 1991 after 32 years of service. He then worked for several car dealerships, including Williamsburg Ford and retired from Bill Hudgins Automotive, Gloucester, VA as a Finance Administrator with 20 years of service.
Roland was an avid sportsman and was the coach for both his son's baseball teams. He was also a longtime fan of the Orioles and Ravens. Roland always wanted everyone to smile and had a wonderful outlook on life.
He was also preceded in death by his sister Carol Church and is survived by his sons Michael Alan Marsh, (Amy), Jeffrey Dean Marsh, Sr. (Donna) step-daughter, Amy Beshgetoorian,(Harry), step-son Walter Trighan, Brother, Nicholas Clay Marsh (Karen) and significant other Rita Staul, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Tabernacle United Methodist Church on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 831 Poquoson Avenue, Poquoson, Va, 23662.Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va is in charge of arrangements.
