Joy, Amy, Deana, Ronnie, and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Joy, both you and Ron were an incredible support when my dad was sick and I was a baby. You were there again when he passed. I have never forgotten your kindness, and my family and I are here for you all. We love you and are sending prayers your way.

Ron's Obituary

 

Ronald “Ron” Louis Krass, born on August 19th, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away January 25, 2025, at the age of 77 after a short, yet courageous, battle of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. 

Ron was a loving and devoted husband of 55 years to Joy Krass (nee Strohofer).  He was a loving and irreplaceable Dad/Pop of Amy Krass, Deana Reinert (PJ) and Tom Canada, and Ronnie (Lauren) Krass.  Cherished and loving Papaw of Adam Reinert (Shannon), Austin Reinert (Hailey), Alexandra (Adam) Baumann, Haley Cunningham, Aiden Reinert, Halston Krass, Holden Krass, and Great-Papaw of Emmett Baumann.  Loving son of the late Jim and Gladys Krass.  Loving son-in-law of the late Ruth Strohofer.  Loving brother of Patsy and Jimmy (SueAnn) Krass.  Loving brother-in-law of Cheryl (Paul) Kiefer, Jim Eldridge, Greg Strohofer, Tammy (Dave) Sparks, and the late Al, Ronnie, Jimmy, and Dickie Strohofer, and Jill Eldridge.  Ron is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Ron was a devout Catholic and a life-long parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in White Oak as well as a parishioner for 22 years at St. Ann Church in Groesbeck.  Additionally, he was a life-long member of the Catholic Order of Foresters (St. James Court).  Ron graduated from Colerain High School in 1966.  He served in the United States Navy from 1967-1972, spending significant time aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier.  Ron retired from GE on August 31, 2007, after 41 years, and then worked at Belcan from September 24, 2007, until September 24, 2014.

Ron enjoyed being a member of Heid’s Social Club and the American Legion Post 513.  He was a big fan of the Bengals, Reds, and UC Bearcats along with any sports his kids or grandkids played.  He loved rabbit hunting, fishing, and coaching his 3 kids in sports.  He participated in playing football, baseball, soccer, and bowling through the years.

Visitation will take place on FRIDAY, January 31, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247.   Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY, February 1st, at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church,  2900 W. Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45239.  Burial to follow the mass at St. James Cemetery, 3565 Hubble Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247.
