Ronald Floyd Balser, 76, of Spencer, W.Va, died Sept. 11, 2025.
He was born Feb. 23, 1949, in Chardon, Ohio, to the late Harry and Ruth Balser. He was raised in Ravenswood, W.Va., and graduated from Ravenswood High School. He went on to serve in the United States Army in the specialist fourth class as a communications operator in Belgium.
For many years, Ron enjoyed and took pride in farming strawberries and making bentwood furniture, memories his family holds dear. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was happiest spending time with his family and enjoying his homestead nestled in the woods.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Balser; three children Laura Glass (David), Noah Balser (Kerrie) and Emily Balser (Eric); four grandchildren Dylan Balser, Olivia Balser, Piper Balser and Grace Glass; and two brothers Gary Balser and Bill Balser.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, James Balser and one brother Larry Balser.
A private service will be held by the family.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer is assisting the family.
