Ronald Jackson Byrd age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at his home.
Ronald was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 2, 1941 to Clifford Alvie and Gladys Irene Lowe Byrd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jason Byrd and a brother Billy Byrd.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Byrd; daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Allen Martin all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Madison and Josh Liddle; Payton Martin and fiance’ Hunter Trimble; Sierra Byrd; great-grandsons Bryson and Bentley Liddle; brothers Kirt Byrd of Galax, Virginia; Jim Byrd of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16th at 1:00 PM in the Cold Springs Church. Inurnment will follow in the Cold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until time for the service at the Cold Springs Church. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726.
