Ronald's Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father; Ronald E. Duncan Sr. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, after battling with dementia at the age of 86.

He always had a smile on his face and a little chuckle in his heart. Ron was an animal lover, having many pets through his life. He loved to work on puzzles and watch old western movies and football re-runs while drinking his favorite beverage, coffee. He will be greatly missed.

Ron was born in Shinnston, West Virgina on April 27, 1939. He was a long-time resident of Lorain. Ron attended Clearview High School. He retired from the Catholic Cemeteries Association Diocese of Cleveland after 35 years. Ron was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1957 to1959.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly A. (nee Dailey) Duncan in 2013.

Surviving are his daughters, Beverly A. (Tony) Hawks and Sharon M. (Scott) Novak both of Elyria; son, Ronald E. Duncan Jr. of Lorain; grandchildren; Danielle M. Hawks, Matthew A. (Emily) Hawks, Sarah M. (Tim) Viczulis and Samantha A. Novak and great-grandchildren; Tessa F. Hawks, Kol T. Gyeszat-Viczulis, Asher D. Hawks and Eleanor M. Viczulis.

His family will receive friends at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm funeral service. Jeramy McDaniel of Abundant Life in Christ Church will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
