Ron & I were friends during our 20's when he lived in 5 Points. I got to thinking about him this morning and so looked him up ....i saw this. I know it's late to be sending my condolences but I do. I was deeply saddened to hear of Ronnies' passing. He was a best friend of mine in High School. I am so glad I got to spend a day on the boat with him last year in Charleston.

The times I spent with Ronnie were always full of fun and good memories. I hate when we loose people so young but I do believe their lives on earth is over and now they have the rest and freedom they never had on earth.

Ronald Charles DuPont, Jr. N. CHARLESTON- Funeral services for Ronald Charles DuPont, Jr., 51, of North Charleston, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2 prior to the service. After a long illness Ronald Charles DuPont, Jr. passed away on March 4, 2011. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou DuPont of Charleston; mother, Alma Gamble DuPont of Columbia and his father, Ronald Charles DuPont of Charleston; two step-sons, Scott Vest and Chris Vest both of Columbia; sister, Denise DuPont of New Mexico; 3 grandchildren, Denise Vest, Bradley Vest and Abbie Vest.
