Ronald J. Olejniczak, age 77, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, with his beloved family by his side. Ron lived a life grounded in love, kindness and an unshakable trust in the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Olejniczak, and his brother, Kenneth. He loved them very much.
Ron was the devoted husband of Colleen for nearly 45 years. She was the love of his life and his constant companion through all of life’s joys and challenges. Their marriage was a beautiful example of faith and friendship.
He was a proud father to daughters Erika (Tom) Czarnecki and Holly (Brett) Berres, and a cherished grandfather to Megan (Jose) Estrada, Lilly (Calvin) Davis, Taylor (Ben) Fosdick, Robert (Laura) Berres, Gavin (Peyton) Czarnecki, Aaron Berres, and Chloe Kay Czarnecki. His heart swelled with joy as he became a great-grandfather to Beau and Ronni Estrada, and Baby Fosdick coming in August.
Family meant everything to Ron — his brother-in-law Gary (Mary) Kubenik, his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and classmates were all very special to him and he often spoke of them.
Ron graduated from Notre Dame High School, Class of 1965, and went on to work at Wisconsin Electric. He worked as a skilled mechanic in the Transportation and Equipment Department and retired after 35+ years of service. He was a hard worker and valued the people he met along the way.
He had a lifelong love for all things cars — from watching dirt track racing to racing slot cars with his buddies, even looking at tires — he enjoyed it all. He loved reading about history, especially WWII. He also really loved to go fishing. Ron could talk to anyone. His kindness and gentleness came through in conversations with him.
Above all, Ron trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior and lived each day giving glory to God. He never took for granted the precious time the Lord gave him to watch his family grow, considering these opportunities a gift. Even during his illness, Ron’s spirit remained strong and full of peace because of his unwavering belief in God's goodness. He was always eager to point others toward the Lord’s faithfulness.
