Ronnie's Obituaries

Ronnie “Smokey” Nicholas, Sr. was called from labor to reward on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his residence at the age or 64. He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Ronnie was employed with the Jefferson Parish Streets Department and a former employee of Avondale Shipyard for many years.

Beloved husband of Apostle Angel S. Nicholas. Devoted father of Ronnie Nicholas, Jr. Stepfather of Brandon S. Savage. Son of the late Irma Nicholas and Arthur Matthews. Brother of Patricia Nicholas, Carol Hill, Wanda Steib, Sandra Smith, Felicia Nicholas, Elouis Matthews, Arthur and Lawrence (Thelma) Henry, Darryl Nicholas, Pastor Reginald (Eulalie) Nicholas, Sr., Tony and Arthur Matthews, Jr., and the late Haywood Nicholas. Godfather of Jeremy M. Nicholas. Son in law of Evora C. Savage, also survived by 4 sisters in law, 1 brother in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Second Zion Baptist Church 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
