RONNIE HOWARD WILLS, 76, of Princeton, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born June 4,1949 in Giles County, VA, the son of the late Jess & Thelma Wills.
Ronnie was raised on Powell Mountain in Rich Creek, VA. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and gardening.
Ronnie was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Vietnam Era as a Lance Corporal and received the Purple Heart Medal.
Ronnie never met a stranger. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He also loved his new church family at The Old Landmark Church. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Willard & Thelma Lorrayne Ramsey Wills, his siblings, Ralph Wills, Wilma Page, Linda Meadows and Philip Wills, and his great-grandson, Carson Ford.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over 55 years, Vaundlena (“Winnie”) Combs Wills; his son & daughter-in-law, Jody & Katrina Wills; his brothers & sisters-in-law, Todd & Tammy Wills and Dane & Deana Wills; his grandsons, Justin & Kesha Wills and J.W. & Sabrina Wills; his great-grandchildren, Adelynn Wills, Dixie Wills and Bobby Wills; several nieces and nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Bro. John Thornsberry and Bro. Craig Strain officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time, 11:00 A.M.
Committal services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery, Dublin.
The family would like to thank the VA Hospital Staff for many years of taking such good care of Ronnie and also Amedisys Hospice for their care at the end of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made in Ronnie’s honor to Amedisys Hospice, 545 Airport Rd Ste 201, Bluefield, WV, 24701.
