Roosevelt's Obituary

Roosevelt Levan Johnson Jr., more affectionately known as “Fella”, was born on April 24, 1962 to the late Levan Johnson Sr. and Lurena Johnson.  He was the second oldest of 5 children born to the pair. Fella departed this life on October 26, 2025 at home with family.

Fella graduated from Pontiac Central High School in 1980, and shortly after, he joined the Army.  After serving for four years and an honorable discharge, he worked for U.S. Farathane as a machine operator.  Fell was an avid Lions and University of Michigan fan, and loved playing dominoes, spades, and even backgammon with family and friends. He was the life of the party and always had a joke or ten to tell.  He enjoyed barbecuing and playing the lottery, and will be remembered as a hardworking family man, and a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Fella was preceded in death by his parents, Levan Johnson Sr. and Lurena Johnson, his youngest brother, Anthony Wayne Johnson, and his older sister, Elizabeth Kathryn Stephens.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his long time partner and wife, Kathryn Potvin; only daughter, Katrina Lanay Johnson; grandchildren, Maya Lynn Johnson, Lurena Danielle Johnson, and Anthony Levan James Johnson; sister, Carolyn Faye Johnson; brothers, Larry Donell Taylor (Barbara), and James Donnell Johnson Sr. (Pamela); nephews, James Johnson Jr and Scott Johnson; nieces, Shakelia Johnson, Shaniqua Johnson, and Sierra Johnson; and special friend Johnathan Lee.  Fella is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan.  Family hour will begin at 11:30am and the service will immediately start at 12:00pm.  Internment will immediately follow after the service at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
