Rosamond's Obituary

Rosamond Parker Rankin, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Tupelo.

She was born on July 30, 1936 in Macon, Ga., to Chadwick Buford “CB” and Rossie Guest Parker.

She was graduate of Mississippi College with a degree in English and also held two Master's degrees in English and Theology. Rosamond was a shining light to everyone she came across and is remembered by many people that she touched throughout her life. She was a loving mother to all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a teacher, counselor and friend to so many people throughout her life. She lived in Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, Florida and Virginia but she always said that she had come full circle back to Mississippi. She was loved by her family and friends whom she left an everlasting effect on their lives. She will be deeply missed but also admired for her wonderful life.

Services will be a private family service as she requested. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her two sons, Randall Rankin of Oxford and Rette Rankin of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rankin, who died in 2007, and her parents.
