We are so sorry for the loss of your Mom, Prayers and Hugs for All of your Families!! Rosie was a Great Sister in Law, we had so many good times together; laughter - conversation and Always Good Food!! We will Always have good memories of Rosie!! We love you All and are so sorry we are not able to be there as you lay your Mom to Rest along side of your Dad! Love, Mary @ Eldon We definitely enjoyed having lunch with her before we left!!

Obituary

Rose's Obituary

Rose M. Breitbach, 86, of Farley, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, at her home in Farley, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation for Rosie will be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Farley, where a prayer service will be held at 2:00      p.m., the CDA Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m. and the Farley American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will also continue after 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Funeral Home.

Services for Rosie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St . Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa, with Rev. Steven Garner presiding.  Burial will be St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Farley, Iowa.           

Rosie was born August 29, 1939, in Farley, Iowa, daughter of Alfred and Agnes (Trenkamp) Goerdt.  On June 17, 1961 she was united in marriage to Gene Breitbach at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on August 18, 2020.

Rose was a very faith filled woman to her Catholic faith.   She had a very strong personality, she was a very strong and hard worker, maybe even a bit bull headed at times.  She lived in Farley for 86 years and made many friends, which were very important to her.  She was a great mom, very loving, caring and patient.  She always looked out for her kids and was very supportive of them.  She taught them great work ethics, “You want it you work for it.  It’s not an expectation.

She loved country music, and especially Wheel of Fortune-do not call between 6:30 and 7:00.  She was a terrific cook, she made the Sloppy Joe’s for the Farley Motor Sports.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Farley, a member of the Farley American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Farley Catholic Daughters of the America’s-Presentation Court #1460.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cori (Thomas) Evelyn of Venice, FL, Chris (Judi) Breitbach of Lone Tree, IA, Craig (Lisa) Breitbach of Farley, IA, Cathy (Mitch) Current of Maquoketa, IA; 13 grandchildren; Jason (Amy) Nelson, Trevan Breitbach, Alyssa (Michael) Kluesner, Ty Breitbach, Jordan (Marissa) Nelson, Morgan (Chris) Peterson, Tara (Kyle) Giacosa, Austin (Olivia) Breitbach, Kylie Current, Tyler (Amber) Heflin, Erin (Isaac) O’Gara. Jack (Kennedy) Heflin, Chris (Alexandra) Evelyn, 13 great grandchildren and two on the way in the spring: her sister, Delores Vorwald of Holy Cross; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol Davis of Farley, Lois Goerdt of Guttenberg, IA, Betty (Paul) Theisen, Mary Westermeyer, Melinda Steffen, Sharon (Ron) Schaul and Eldon (Mary) Breitbach.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and in-laws, Alfred “Sonny” Goerdt Jr., Gertrude Davis, Bob Goerdt, Lorraine Davis, Herbert Goerdt, Dick Goerdt, Joyce (Donald) Koster, and Dale Goerdt and George Davis; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Vorwald, Jerry (Mary) Breitbach, Darlene (Wilfred) Vorwald, Gary Westermeyer and Bob Steffen.

The family of Rose would like to thank Dr. Ringold, the Tri-State Dialysis staff and Hospice of Dubuque for all the wonderful care and Kindness given to Rose and the support given to Rose and our family.
