Rose's Obituary

Nokomis, FL - Rose Cross, age 91, passed away peacefully with her family alongside on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Cedar Grove Nursing Home in Williamstown, NJ.

She was born in Concord, NH, the daughter of the late Dominick and Idell (Wiltshire) Sansone. She was a graduate of St. John’s High School.

Rose worked as a telephone operator in her younger years and then after her kids were in school, she started working as a receptionist and office manager for many years, for Sears Roebuck and Manpower in Concord. Rose loved helping people, she was known as the “Go to” person in the neighborhood for helping out with the kids. She discovered her love for crafting after her kids were grown and was a very talented interior decorator and accomplished stained glass artist.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Howard Cross of Nokomis, FL; her daughter, Debbie Chalk and her husband Bruce of Williamstown, NJ; 2 sons, Bruce Cross and his wife Amy of North Yarmouth, ME, and Mark Cross and his wife Tracy of Virginia; many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; her sisters, Genevieve Price and her husband Doug of Nashua; Idell Donovan and her husband John of Loudon and Maryann Sansone and her husband James Weigle of Concord; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Josephine French, wife of Roger French of Contoocook.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 2 at 10 AM at Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main Street, Concord. Friends and Family are welcome to a buffet luncheon to follow at The Common Man Restaurant, 25 Water Street, Concord.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose’s memory to the Pope Memorial SPCA or the NH Fish and Game Department.
