My son and I have so many things we would love to say he was an amazing man and literally saved my sons life and taught him everything it was such a great loss to our family You are so missed in the medical community and in the lives of the children you treated and mentored

Great doctor we loved him he was my sons Dr frm age 5 till 18 years old. He cared about his patients . You want find any other doctors like him.. Heaven gain a great angel.

Dear Katie...we were so saddened to just hear the news about your parents. We had no idea until now, and were told by someone in the Halcyon Forest neighborhood. I just heard this news and am so sad to hear of Dr. Williams' passing. He was a really nice man and a wonderful, caring physician. Such a loss. Godspeed.

Ross was one of my best high school friends, and he handed to me the paperwork allowing me to apply for a Methodist Conference Honor Scholarship to WV Wesleyan College (which I won), since Ross knew he was planning to go to Pitt after graduation from Bridgeport High School. A great guy!

Dr. Williams was such an amazing physician and person. I first met him when I was referred to his practice for my now adult son, when we moved to Wilmington. My son, Jay, truly respected Dr. Williams, not only for the care he gave to Jay, but for his kindness, and the bond they shared in being active with the Boy Scouts. Dr. William's was a wonderful physician for my now grown children. He was always so kind as well as caring and skillfull in his manner. I am so thankful for his help and I am so sad to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family.

Ross's Obituary

Dr. Ross E. Williams, 71, of Wilmington, NC peacefully passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

He was born on June 28, 1947, in Pittsburgh, PA the son of Frank R. and Jeanne (Snee) Williams, who predeceased him.

Ross received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.  After finishing his internship and residency in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, he began practice in Zanesville, Ohio.  In 1998, he moved to Wilmington, NC where he continued practicing and specializing in developmental and behavioral pediatrics until his death.

He was an active member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school. He was an Eagle Scout as well as an avid boater and fisherman for many years.  He enjoyed nature, bird watching, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Williams is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Connie (Wolford) Williams; daughter Katie (Ted Nobles); grandchildren, Nathan, Sydney, and Lilly; son Shawn Spears; and sister, Peggy (Chuck) Smyczek.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Contributions in his memory may be made to Pine Valley United Methodist Church, Wilmington, NC or Grace United Methodist Church, Zanesville, OH.
