Roy Ulysses Echols, Jr. was born September 30, 1945 to Roy Ulysses Echols Sr. and Ruthie Aree Maroney in Chicago, Illinois. He attended I. M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas and received a GED. He also attended Tarrant County Junior College. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1972 and received an honorable discharge.
Mr. Echols worked in the maintenance department of several industries as a floor polisher engineer.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy Andrew Echols and James Earl Maroney.
Roy Ulysses Echols, Jr. beloved brother entered rest, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the VA North Texas Healthcare System Inpatient Hospice Care Program following an extended illness. He is cherished forever in memory by his remaining siblings, his sister Geraldine Ruth (Echols) Harris and brother, Charles Edward Echols and many other family members and friends.
Special thanks to all the healthcare professionals at Arlington Memorial Hospital and the VA North Texas Healthcare System.
The Christian Committal and Interment is March 27, 2024 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
