Not sure what to say?

My heart is heavy this day. Roy was one of the finest gentlemen I knew. He worked for me for many years. In addition to being extremely bright, hardworking, and task oriented; Roy had one of the funniest and clever senses of humor and kept the entire office entertained most of the day. He will be missed. Roy was a good friend. God Bless Roy.

I´m sorry about Roy. My name was Marilyn Garbarino and we were married from 1970 to 1978. He was a caring and kind person.

This book of memories is to serve as a record of the services you entrusted to us. We hope it will help to preserve treasured memories and that we, in some small measure, have helped to ease your burden and bring you comfort.

I met Roy and his family when we were both 29. He was our wonderful neighborthus began a lifelong friendship. Roy was the kindest and most caring person. He always put others first. His deep love for everyone and everything he did in life was an inspiration to all. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Roy's Obituary

Roy F. Garbarino of Reading passed away at his family home on August 13, 2025. He was 76 years of age. Roy was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on April 22, 1949, the son of the late Francis J. and Ruth E. (Gordinier) Garbarino.

Roy grew up in Reading and graduated from Reading Memorial High School, Class of 1967. Upon graduation Roy attended and graduated from Wentworth Institute and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He lived a simple, quiet life filled with love, generosity, and devotion to family and friends. An avid fisherman, Roy took joy in fly fishing in rivers, crafting his own flies, and catching striped bass along the ocean. He cherished nature, quiet moments at home, and the company of those he loved.

After living in Townsend, Massachusetts, for 40 years, Roy returned to his family home in Reading to care for his mother until her passing, demonstrating his selflessness and steadfast devotion. Friends and family remember him as a generous, inspiring, and quietly remarkable man whose kindness touched everyone who knew him.

Roy is survived by his best friend Barbara A. Kimball of North Charleston, SC; sister Dayle Silverman and her husband Daniel of Bedford; and cousins David Smith and his wife Michelle of Peterborough, NH; Brian Smith of Fremont, NH; and Jimmy, Joseph, and John Garbarino.

Visiting hours will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.), Reading, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 4–7 PM. Funeral service and burial for Roy are private.
