Roy L. Kinner, 100, of Springville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his daughter's home after a brief illness. He was born on July 29, 1913 in Dimock, PA, to the late Willie A. and Pearl I. (Mason) Kinner. His wife of nearly 67 years, Marge (Stankavage) Kinner, predeceased him in 2003.Surviving is his daughter, Elaine Cook, Springville, PA, two grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel and Cindy Cook, Tunkhannock, PA, Deborah and Bruce Russell, Maine, two great grandchildren, Joseph Brown, Dallas, TX, Ashley Russell, Maine, brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Marjorie Kinner, Montrose, PA, two sisters-in-law, Thelma Kinner, Montrose, PA, Helen Williams, Dallas, PA, brother-in-law, Stanley Stankavage, Springville, PA, many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his three brothers, Wayne, Audley and Leon.Roy was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Church. He attended the Dimock School. He ran a trucking business; through that business he became well acquainted with many friends in the area. He ran milk cans for the dairy farmers, coal to the local businesses, and feed from the feed mills and shavings to the farmers for the cattle beds from the furniture makers. He was an avid gardener, loved animals; especially his Collie "Max"; and baseball. He played baseball on the local town teams with his brother Leon, and was still watching games on the TV right up to the time of his passing. Roy was especially fond of his grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Holy Name of Mary Church, with Rev. Philip Rayappan, officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery. Visitations will be Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home.Donations in Roy's memory can be made to the Endless Mtns.
