Barbara June Propps

Barbara June Propps, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016.  Barbara was born in Salem, Virginia, the only child of Carl Lee and Myrtle Bolling Propps.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two beloved Yorkies: Dominique and Harley.

Barbara was a long-time member of Rosalind Hill Baptist Church and retired as a computer programmer for the City of Roanoke.

She is survived by two special cousins: Ronnie (Phyllis) Bolling of Vinton, VA and Jim (Melanie) Bolling of Florida, and other relatives and friends who love her.  Barbara would like to thank Gene and Eunice Whitmore, Bonnie and Charlie Bremner, Laura and Steve Potter, Penny Horsley, and all who gave her their constant care and affection.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Oakey’s South Chapel with Rev. Nelson Harris officiating.  A visitation will take place one hour prior to the start of the service.  A private burial will take place at Sherwood Burial Park in Salem, Virginia at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Roanoke Valley SPCA, 1340 Baldwin Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24012 or to the Homebound Ministries of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church, 2712 Brandon Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24015.
