I worked with Roy at Lincoln Laboratory in Group 71, and I thought of him as a true engineer, and a enjoyable person to spend time with. Sorry to hear he has passed away.

Royal W. Purdy, Jr.Portland-Royal Wadsworth Purdy, Jr., 78, of Otisfield died Wednesday, August 22 at Maine Medical Center. He was born in Boston, MA. on March 9, 1934 the son of Royal W. Purdy, Sr. and Mary J. Hogan Purdy. He attained a Master's degree from M.I.T. and had been employed as a mechanical engineer for Lincoln Labs. He faithfully served our country in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the V.F.W. Royal married Maureen Sullivan. He enjoyed woodworking, he built the cabinets in their home. He could fix most anything. He also enjoyed fishing and was known for helping people. He is survived by his wife of Otisfield; his sons, Brian Purdy, Timothy F. Purdy, Todd H. Eachus and Kevin L. Eachus; and numerous grandchildren. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
