Rual's Obituary

Rual Gunn Jr., age 73, passed away on February 18, 2024, in Sebring, FL. He was born on July 8, 1950, in Sebring, FL, to the late Rual Gunn Sr. and Oretha (Jones) Gunn.

Rual was a dedicated Corrections Officer for the government, serving his country with honor and integrity. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, exemplifying bravery and commitment to his duties.

Outside of his professional life, Rual was deeply involved in his community and church. He was a member of Bountiful Blessings Church in Sebring, Florida, where he found solace and strength in his faith. He was also an active member of Faith Builders Worship in Auburndale, showing his dedication to his spiritual beliefs.

Rual had a passion for life and a heart full of love for his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Versil Gunn of Sebring, FL, his sons Roger N. Yarde of Sebring, FL, Derrick R. Yarde and Donishia Yarde (Daughter in Law ) of Auburndale, FL, and O'Brien Yarde of Sebring, FL. He is also survived by his sisters, Clara Simmons of Texas and Mary Ann Gunn of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Rual's legacy lives on through his 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their beloved patriarch.

Rual had many interests and hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He found immense comfort in his church and spent countless hours reading the Bible, drawing strength and inspiration from his faith. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and weightlifting, finding peace and solace in nature and physical exercise.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Rual's funeral, which will be held at Bountiful Blessings on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in Sebring, Florida, on February 24, 2024 with a visitation to begin at 9:00 AM  and the service to begin at 10:00 AM with Pastor Miller to officiate. Rual will be laid to rest surrounded by those who loved him dearly.

Rual Gunn Jr. will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his strong faith. His kindness, generosity, and love will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched.
