I loved my mother dearly but spent too little time living in proximity. She taught me to cook and fish and grow everything. She told me I was the best at everything I did. I've had a successful career due to her.
I'm grateful she's at peace.

Ruby's Obituary

Ruby June Garraway, age 88 of Alliance, passed away peacefully at McCrea Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation surrounded by love and warmth on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Ruby was born in Alliance, Ohio on July 23, 1936 to Arthur and Lillian (Miller) Bissett.

Ruby dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse, offering comfort and compassion to those in need. Ruby's nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession; she was deeply committed to her family and friends, always placing their well-being above her own. Ruby’s home was a haven where companionship and kindness flourished. She found great pleasure in playing cards, a pastime that allowed her to connect with loved ones and create lasting memories.

Ruby is survived by two sons: Bryan (Gail) Andrie of Perry and Bradley (Diedra) Andrie of Idaho Falls, ID; three grandchildren: Michael (Erin) Andrie of Minnesota, Jessica (Matt) Andrie-Lux of Des Plaines, IL, and Brianna (Steve) Andrie-Hutton of Mentor; four great grandchildren: Noah, Emmet, Poppy, and Willow; and two brothers, Thomas (Loraine) Bissett of Alliance and Norman (Sissy) Bissett of Minerva.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by husbands: Gerald Andrie and Norman Garraway; and three sisters: Lottie Hosfeld, Carroll Wall, and Loretta Crowe.

Memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at a later date.
