Russel's Obituary

Russell Burton Dean, 90 years old, of Centralia, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2013. He was born June 30, 1922, in Kindersley, Sask., Canada, to Harry and Olive (Shaw) Dean. In 1943, Rusty married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Kellogg. On April 9, 2012, they celebrated 69 years together.He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Peggy Mae (Kellogg) Dean, one sister, Mary Sanborn, four children, Larry (Judy) Dean, Sandy (Terry) Dellinger, Patti (Bob) Krause and Ed (Debbie) Dean, 10 grandchildren, Jeff Dellinger, Paul (Erika) Dean, David (Jana) Dean, Jason (Eve) Dellinger, Jared (Dana) McMahon, Scott (Trena) Krause, Krista, (Brian) Walsh, Andrea (David) Garber, Stephanie (Levi) West, Paul (Joslyn) Dean, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Rusty served in the United States Army during WWII. He owned several dry cleaners, including Rainbow Cleaners, in Centralia until 1973. He then went to work for Willies Sport Shop as their bicycle repair man until he retired in 1985. Rusty and Peggy spent many years traveling throughout the United States in their fifth-wheel, visiting friends and family and golfing.Rusty spent most of his adult life coaching, playing and watching baseball. He also loved to play card games with his family and friends.Rusty loved the Lord. He studied his Bible and prayed for his family daily. The legacy of faith he left will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.Services will be held this Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at Centralia Community Church, 3320 Borst Ave. Centralia, WA 98531. There will be a reception to follow in the church family life center.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Centralia Community Church/Missions Fund.
