Ruth Evelyn Freeman

Ruth Clancy Freeman of Wichita Falls passed peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025 at the age of 92.  

Ruth was born on October 5, 1933 in Delhi, Oklahoma to Tommy and Annie (Smith) Clancy.  She graduated Cum laude at Midwestern University (now Midwestern State University) in Wichita Falls.  Ruth started working at E.W. Moran Drilling Co. and continued there for over 45 years as their accountant.  She married Gerald Freeman in 1954.  From this union, they had one son, Derek, and one daughter, Karen, and resided permanently in Wichita Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Annie Clancy; her husband, Gerald Don Freeman; her sister, Patsy Serratt; and brothers, Don Clancy, and Paul Clancy.

She is survived by her son, Derek Freeman; her daughter, Karen Borges both of Wichita Falls; beloved grandson, Drey Taylor and wife Stephanie of Plano; and step-grandson, Richard Borges Jr. and wife Rossana of Jacksonville, Florida.

The family will receive friends between 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  Due to Gerald’s passing during the 2020 pandemic, funeral services honoring Ruth and Gerald’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. at Delhi Cemetery in Delhi, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Clancy Family Cemetery Fund, 12697 N. 1850 Rd, Sayre, Oklahoma 73662.
