Ruth's Obituary

Ruth Ann (Lively) Hooper, 89, of Wichita Falls passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.

 Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 at Rosemont Cemetery in Wichita Falls.  Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Ruth Ann was born on December 20, 1935 in Wichita Falls to the late Lester and Lois (Galloway) Lively.  She was a 1954 graduate of Wichita Falls Senior High, and graduated from Midwestern State University.  Ruth Ann married Allen Ray Hooper, and the couple were married for thirty-five years, until his passing in 2016.  She worked part-time for Carl T. Anderson Oil Production while attending Midwestern, and then full time for twenty years upon graduation.  Ruth Ann then worked for Jack Johnson, Oil Producer at Johnson and Ernst until retirement.  Ruth Ann and Allen enjoyed traveling to every state except Alaska, and every Canadian province but one.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Flo Wanda Strealy, nephews Darrell Strealy and Jim Lively, and niece Rita Lynn Jones and husband Max.

Ruth Ann is survived by grandson Chet Hooper and wife Nicole; grandsons Parker and Owen Hooper; niece Ginger Bieker and husband Tom, and nephew Monte Strealy and wife Tommie; along with several great nieces and nephews.
