Locket was a God fearing lady with a smile always on her face. She and her daughters was always in church on Sunday. She will be miss. Rest In Peace, God got you.

Ruth's Obituary

Ruth T. Locket, affectionately known as “Emma” by family and friends, was born October 1, 1947 in Charlotte, NC.  She peacefully entered her eternal rest on Saturday, January 21, 2023.  She was born to the late Benjamin Teasley, Sr. and Mattie Glenn Teasley.  In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Broderick B. Teasley; four sisters, Mona D. Teasley, Rosetta Magnum, Ruby Glenn and Carolyn Teasley; and three brothers, Benjamin Teasley, Jr., Rufus Teasley and Carl Teasley.

     Ruth graduated from Second Ward High School, Charlotte, NC.  Following her high school years, she worked at Goodwill Industries for 40 years before retiring in 2010.  After taking some much needed time out to enjoy family and friends, she decided to work temporary at J. P. Morgan Chase and part-time with Miriam Davis Cleaning.  In 2022, she decided to stop working for health reasons. 

     She was a faithful member of Saint Paul Baptist Church for over 45 plus years and served on the Usher Board.  In her free time, she loved reading, traveling and spending time with her daughters, granddaughter and her baby sister, Mona, before her passing.  Her favorite TV shows were Court TV, Family Feud, the News and Love It or List It on HGTV.

     She leaves to cherish her precious memory, two daughters, Patrinia Locket and Latanya L. Peeples (Charles); one granddaughter, Shantia Bell; two brothers, Lawrence Teasley (Shirley) and Larry Teasley (Judy); one sister, Patricia Knotts, all of Charlotte, NC; two longtime friends, Ms. Elsie Banks and Mrs. Barbara Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
