Aunt Ruth and Nancy in April 2023 when I last visited her. Aunt Ruth was the person who never forgot to send a niece or nephew's birthday card. She holds a special place in my heart.

Aunt Ruth, you are united in heaven with family again. We will miss your smile, and laughter. And you are with Jesus now.

Aunt Ruth was the kindest and most thoughtful person. She went through an early tragedy in her first marriage. She lost our Uncle Earl, our cousin Beverly, and her mother in a dreadful car accident. Somehow, she picked herself up and continued her young life. She devoted herself to her daughter, Nancy. Ruth C. (Werkheiser) Wirth Posch

Age 93

Formerly of Lower Saucon Township

 

Ruth C. (Werkheiser) Wirth Posch, 93, of Upper Nazareth Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth.  Born in Lower Saucon Township on August 31, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert U. Werkheiser Sr. and Beatrice A. (Masters) Werkheiser. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Earl Wirth and later, the late Edward Posch.  She was employed as an assembler at B. Braun Medical for 10 years, retiring in 1994.  Ruth was a devoted member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Saucon Twp. She was also a former member of Christ Lutheran Church of Lower Saucon, where she served faithfully as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, and member of the church’s Hospitality Committee.

Ruth is survived by her daughter: Daughter: Nancy L. Moyer of Lower Saucon Twp.; Siblings: Sterling Werkheiser of Palmyra and Elizabeth Zellner of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Edward H. Moyer III and Crystal Moyer.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly A. Wirth, and siblings: James Werkheiser, Robert Werkheiser Jr., John Werkheiser, and Beatrice Nemetz.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main St. Hellertown followed by the service at 11 a.m.  A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans after the service.
