Sadie's Obituary

Mrs. Sadie Heath Lynch closed her eyes into the joys of the Lord on December 7, 2025 at ECU Health Medical Center, Greenville, NC.  Please keep this family in your prayers.

Sadie Heath Lynch, affectionally known as “Sweet Sadie,” was born on April 14, 1959, in Bethel, NC, to the late Charles David Heath and Shirley Grimes. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 7, 2025, slipping into her final resting place and leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and love.

Sadie attended Farmville Central High School and spent 35 years working as a seamstress at Belvoir Manufactory. Although she spent 35 years as a seamstress, as the matriarch of the family she spent all 66 years of her life using her sweet smile and meek spirit to gently guide those she loved with tenderness and grace. Sadie was careful and intentional with her love, planting seeds of gentleness and mothering everyone around her.  To encounter her was truly an experience of a lifetime.

Sadie loved everyone, but she was in love with her grandchildren. Sadie would spend countless hours at her “second” job to make sure her grandchildren had everything they needed and wanted–never going without.  If she could not personally attend any events they had, she would make sure to send a representative so that her presence was felt. To her grandchildren she was a superwoman—always rainbows, flowers, with a sprinkle of "family gossip" to keep the laughter flowing.

Nothing brought Sadie more joy than her family and friends. Sadie would host family gatherings—making sure that there was plenty of food, lots of storytelling, and laughter. She would often sit back and watch with the biggest smile on her face, cheeks raised so high they would squeeze her eyes, then she would quickly jump up and do her two-step when someone played her favorite song.

Sadie was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Grimes; her father, Charles David Heath; her brother, Robert Williams; one beloved sister, Loretta Heath; and one beloved sister in law, Margaret Heath.

Sadie leaves to cherish her memories, Husband, Wayne Lynch; 3 children, Latasha Heath, Donnie Lynch (Julia), and Travis Lynch (Tiffany); 2 Sisters, Mary Brown and Annie Person; 3 brothers, Alton Heath (Margaret), Harvey Heath, and Charles Heath; 12 Grandchildren, Onatashia Harris, Marquavis Heath, Jamaya Heath, Imani Heath, Tovarion Tyson, Cameron Lynch, Skylah Lynch, Maliyah Lynch, Cole Lynch

I’ryiah Lynch, Izrael Lynch and Kaylani-Jae Lynch; One Great-Grandchild, Makenzie Heath. Many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss Sweet Sadie.
