Sally Gronauer

Sally Ruth Gronauer (nee Sweeney), 79 passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, following a short illness.  Sally was born on June 15, 1946 to the late H. Patrick and Myrl Sweeney, in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Sally was a 1964 graduate of Regina High School and continued her education at Loretto Heights College in Colorado and Mt. Saint Joseph College.  She married the love of her life, Raymond (Ray) Gronauer in 1967 and they recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.  

Sally had many passions, but her greatest was her family and grandkids.  She loved sharing her vast experiences and knowledge with each one of them. She was a walking dictionary, and they were constantly amazed at her immense vocabulary which led to lots of fun and funny conversations. 

Sally is survived by her loving husband Raymond (Ray) Gronauer, her two sons, David (Emily), and Greg (Jane) and grandchildren, Allyson Gronauer (Matt Dickhaut), Abigayle (Drew) Hartmann, Savannah and Raymond (Jack) Gronauer and siblings Dennis (Vicki) Sweeney, Mary (John) Sikora, Peggy (John) DeStefano, Tom (Lynn) Sweeney, John Sweeney, Katie (Bill) MacEachen and Jim (Mary) Sweeney.  Preceding her in death are her sisters Ann Lima and Patty Meder.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 6th at Mr. Pitifuls,1323 Main Street Cincinnati, OH, United States, Ohio 45202, from 1 – 4 PM.
