Sally Shannon Cook Riley, 56, wife of Kevin Riley, passed away on September 15, 2025, at Bluegrass Community Hospital in Versailles, KY. Born on August 7, 1969, in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of Ralph Wayne Cook and the late Janette Britt Cook.
A dedicated and compassionate nurse, Sally devoted her life to caring for others. Over the years, she spent significant time working at Georgetown Community Hospital before joining The Lexington Clinic Endoscopy Center, where she was most recently employed. Her commitment to her patients and colleagues was evident in every role she held throughout her career. Outside of her work, Sally found joy in simple pleasures—shopping, crafting, relaxing on beach trips to Destin, and spending quiet moments scrolling her phone with her cherished dog, Cooper, by her side. She especially loved time with her great-nephews, Talan, Lukas, and Tanner, who brought her endless smiles.
Sally is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Kevin; her loving daughter, Jenna; her father, Wayne (wife Sandi); her brother, Todd Cook (wife Vicki); a special Uncle, Jim Britt; and her great nephews, Talan, Lukas, and Tanner.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. Burial will follow at Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 19, and again on Saturday beginning at 12:00 PM until the time of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Riley, Earl Riley, Mike Riley, Dylan Riley, Alex Riley, and Todd Cook. Honorary bearers will be her coworkers at The Lexington Clinic Endoscopy Center.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sally are suggested to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, P.O. Box 32141, New York, NY 10087-2141, or online at https://ocrahope.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/make-a-donation/.
