Samantha Williams Dykes, 70, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving daughters, son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was born on June 16, 1955 in Erie, PA to the late Gussie D. Williams and Lonzo Arrington, Sr.
Samantha enjoyed cooking, shopping, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends while being the life of the party. Samantha has always been a safe haven to those in need of shelter and/or a meal. She never met a stranger, as she was affectionately known as “Aunt Manthy” to everyone that encountered her. She was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dykes, Sr., brothers Levon Williams, Willie “June Bug” Williams, Tracy Arrington, Cleveland Arrington, and Bill Arrington; sisters, Penny Faith Williams, Lillie Bernice Williams, Carolyn Amanda Williams, Joycelyn Ann Gilmore, and Lois Arrington.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Tamara Williams (Mark Hunter) of Jacksonville, FL, Kenya Morgan (James Brace) of Erie, PA, and LaShanna Morgan of Jacksonville, FL. A son, Charles D. Williams, Jr. of Erie, PA. Two bonus daughters, Devonna Johnson of Pittsburgh PA, and Tonya Akins of Erie, PA. Four Bonus sons, Tony Akins, Barry Akins, Robert (Tomica) Dykes Jr, and Philip Dykes all of Erie. Four sisters, Deborah Bolden, Lizzy Williams, Yvette Arrington, all of Erie, PA and Rose Meredith of Texas; three brothers Fred Williams, Charles D. Williams, Sr., and Lonzo Arrington, Jr all of Erie, PA. 15 grandchildren, Shaquille Logan, Dominique Burnett, Patrick Burnett, Tamar Jones, Tamauryon Morgan, Tayon Morgan, Tamere Burnett, Tavonne Burnett, Tahjgere Morgan, Tahjmere Morgan, Tristan Walters, Mark Williams-Hunter, Bri’an Walters, Braylon Walters, and James Brace; five great grandchildren whom she was lovingly known as GiGi, Carter Crawford, Alayiah Crawford-Williams, Demi Burnett, Makaio Burnett, and Isley Burnett. Special nieces, Erika Williams and Tina Gilmore, and a special nephew, Edward Williams.
