Samuel DeLoach Jr.

Samuel Anderson DeLoach Jr. (affectionally known as “Super Sam”) age 60 of Idlewild Michigan passed away October 16, 2018 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.

On September 26, 1958 in Detroit Michigan, Samuel Anderson Deloach Jr. (Super Sam) was born to the late Samuel Anderson DeLoach Sr. and Ella Nicholson.   

Sam attended Baldwin High School and played football during his time until he graduated in 1977. After graduation Sam went into business for himself and serviced the Highland Park, MI community with his “Super Sam” Ice Cream truck. Super Sam later opened a motor cycle shop called “Ride-n-Shine” on Gratiot in Detroit MI.

Sam was employed for the City of Detroit for 30 years, and retired from the Fresh Water treatment Plant in Allen Park MI on December 31, 2016.

Sam leaves to cherish his memories, his son, John Grier IV (Brianna) of Fort Worth Texas, his daughter, Samantha DeLoach of Idlewild, MI, his grandchildren, Catherine A.B. DeLoach, Markus Alvarez Jr., Brinae Grier, Christopher DeLoach, Karrington Grier, Malcolm DeLoach, Makenzie Grier, and John Grier V, his sisters, Barbara Baker, Brenda Ollie, and Beverly Bryant , his nieces, Tracey Mahone, Loretta Nicholson, his nephews, Walter Sims (Juanita), and Lloyd Sims, his sister in laws, Annie Walker Burgess and Doris Baldwin, his brother in law, Edward Brown, and a host of great nieces and nephews and extended family members.

A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm (Family Hour) and 3:00 pm (Service) at Baldwin Elementary School, 525 4thSt., Baldwin MI 49304.  Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Idlewild, MI 49642.
