Perth Amboy– Mr. Samuel Bautista Padilla Jr., 51 died Monday, 26 August 2012 in Perth Amboy, NJ. He was born on June 7, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended and graduated Carteret High School, Carteret, NJ in 1980. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1983 where he served our country honorably as a Hospital Corpsman at 2ND Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force (FMF), Camp LeJeune, NC. His unit was deployed to Beriut, Lebanon and during the aftermath of the Beriut Barracks bombing in 1983; he medically treated the many injured Marines and Sailors. During his tenure, he received the Sea Service Deployment, Navy Unit Commendation, and Navy Expeditionary medals; Combat Action Ribbon and Good Conduct Award. Upon the end of his enlistment, he worked as a Paramedic for Middlesex County. His career also included over 30 years' experience as a Machinist of heavy equipment and machinery. He oftentimes traveled to foreign countries to troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance of billions of dollars in equipment. Samuel "also known as Sammy and Sal" was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his mother Ana Villanueva-Fernandez, his father Samuel B. Padilla Sr., his brother John M. Padilla, his sisters Elizabeth Garcia-Padilla, Natasha DeJesus, Lourdes Ramos and Beverly Ramos, his daughters Nicole Padilla and Michelle Padilla, step-daughter Cynthia Hernandez and step-son Efrain Hernandez, his four grandsons, and 17 nieces and nephews. He is deeply loved by his friends and family. We will miss him each and every day but he will live forever in our hearts and memories. We Love You "Sal" to the moon and back…Till we meet again. Funeral Services will take place Saturday 4:00 pm at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065. Cremation, Rosehill Crematory, Linden. Visitation on Saturday 2-4 pm at the funeral home.
