Sending our sympathy to Cindy and Sam's family. We only met Sam and Cindy once and Sam treated us as longtime friends and was a wonderful friend to our son and daughter-in-law Jason and Kendall and their dog Ryder he will truly be missed by them.

Cindy and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can remember your many stories about Sam and the family you told at lunch at the JH. You have so many wonderful memories of Sam. Let those memories support you forever!

Samuel's Obituary

Samuel “Sam” Albert Persha, 56, of Derby, VT passed away suddenly on May 5, 2024 in Irasburg, VT. He was born on February 15, 1968 in Watertown, NY to Albert and Linda (Brotherton) Persha. On June 12, 1993 he married Cynthia Crowley who survives him. 

Sam graduated from Carthage High School in NY. He was the parts manager at Pepin’s Truck Repair in Derby for 26 years. During his lifetime he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and taking his side by side on the trails. He always enjoyed a good time with his friends and family around the campfire. 

Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

He is also survived by his mother Linda Persha of NY, children Christina Powers and her husband Matt of Troy, VT, Samantha Stanton and her husband Zack of Newport Center, VT, grandchildren Emily, Oliver, Riley, Lillian, Iziah, Sophia and Axel. He is also survived by his brother Jeff Persha of NY, sisters Michele Persha of NY and Alfreda Augustus (Persha) of NY, as well as many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews as well. 

He was predeceased by his father Albert Persha and brother Timothy Persha.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. on Friday May 10, 2024 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Derby. A potluck celebration of life will be held at 12 P.M. on Saturday May 11 at Tree Corners Campground in Irasburg. The family asks that everyone wear camouflage or dress casual. If friends desire memorial contributions in Sam’s name may be made to the Derby Fish & Game Club, P.O. Box 187, Derby, VT 05829. Online condolences may be made at curtis-britch.com.
