Sandra's Obituary

Sandra L. Groezinger, 81, of Elizabeth, peacefully joined God's heavenly angels at home on November 17, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Dale and Doris Westaby.

Sandra married Kenneth Dale Groezinger on October 15, 1966, and together they were blessed with three wonderful children: Jane (Groezinger) Brown, Dean Groezinger, and Carrie (Groezinger) Winter. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her devoted husband Kenneth, her children, and their spouses: Jane and Mike Brown, Dean and Lynnette Groezinger, and Carrie and Joe Winter. Sandra is also fondly remembered by her sister Mary Ann (Rod) Reimers and brother-in-law Rod Reimers, her sister-in-law Marian Groezinger, her brother and sister-in-law Larry and Carol Groezinger, and their families. She is also now reunited with her beloved sister Karen (Westaby) Steffes.

Her legacy extends through her nine grandchildren: Kristen (Brown) Patterson, Phillip Brown, Anthony Brown, Tori (Groezinger) Offenheiser, Katherine Groezinger, Daren Winter, George Winter, Joseph Winter, and Sarah Winter, as well as her seven great-grandchildren: Emmett, Bekham, and Myles Patterson, Mason and Rylee Brown, and Layne and Landon Offenheiser. Sandra is also survived by numerous extended family members, special friends, and farming neighbors.

Throughout her life, Sandra was a dedicated caretaker and the eldest of three sisters who believed in the power of community and embodying God's ways in earthly life. Her boundless love for her family extended to friends, whom she considered an integral part of her family. Sandra's work ethic was unparalleled, whether caring for her family, neighbors, or animals on the farm; each held a special place in her heart. She was also a dedicated member of the local Home Extension chapter for over 50 years, a lifelong curious learner.

Despite enduring physical pain for much of her adult life, Sandra's resilience and strength never wavered. She faced each day with unwavering determination and a spirit that inspired all who knew her. Sandra's legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering faith in God will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.

Her greatest wish is for her family to continue building on the foundation she created: love, care for, and help others without being asked, carry on family traditions, work hard, and celebrate together. "Glitter makes your life sparkle brightest when you are spreading love, joy, and kindness."

Sandra’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Dubuque, whose compassionate care enabled her to live out her life peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at Hermann Funeral Home in Stockton from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kent on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10:00a.m. Interment will take place at Woodbine Cemetery.
