Sandra “Sandy” Vella (Perrozzi), a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, held in the love of the people she devoted her life to.Born on June 7,1959 in Chicago, IL, she grew into a woman whose warmth, generosity, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She had a gift for making people feel cared for—whether through a home‑cooked meal, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her steady presence that made the world feel a little safer.She found joy in the simple things: cooking meals that brought her family together, browsing her favorite shops just to see what treasures she might find, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Family was the heart of her world. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and the memories she created with them will be cherished forever.To her family, she was more than a mother - she was a confidante, a source of comfort, and a best friend. She was the person you could always count on, the one who showed up without hesitation, who listened without judgment, and who loved without conditions. Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but her love remains woven into the hearts of those she leaves behind.She is survived by her daughter, Dana Morley, and son‑in‑law Chris; her granddaughter Marlie Morley; her son Thomas “TJ” Vasica and daughter‑in‑law Carrie; her grandchildren Paizlee and Jordy Vasica. She is also survived by her sisters Marcia Perrozzi and Loretta “Bubs” (Perrozzi) Schwabe, her brother‑in‑law Mark, and her niece and nephew Alyssa and Mike Schwabe. Each of them carries a piece of her heart and her legacy.She is reunited in peace with her father Michael Perrozzi and her mother Ruth (Perrozzi) Sauter, whose memories she held close throughout her life.A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, at 1:00 PM at Za Za’s Tavola Italiana, Barrington, IL. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by her warmth, wisdom, and generosity are invited to join us in honoring her story, sharing memories, and remembering the joy she brought into our hearts.The family will honor her life in a simple, heartfelt way—just as she would have wanted.In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Sandra’s honor, reflecting the way she lived each day, or donations to the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
