Oh how saddened I am to hear this news. Sara and I became friends after college and spent some fun times together. She was always so kind, warm and funny. I pray for her family and friends during this time. May she rest in the arms of Jesus.

Sara's Obituary

Sara Powell Brown, aged 42, passed away on March 19th, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 4, 1983, in Memphis, TN,  to Stanley and Sandra McClain Powell. As the second-born, Sara shared childhood memories along with one brother Stefen. The family made their home in Monroe County, Arkansas, where Sara graduated from Clarendon High School in 2002.  She went on to continue her education at UCA in Conway and later ASU in Jonesboro. In her working career Sara excelled as a Reconciliation Specialist at JTS Financial, working remotely in Oklahoma. She also enjoyed being an active member of her community, serving on the Kansas Children's Foundation Committee. On September 23, 2017, Sara became the wife of Josh Brown. They chose to make their home and raise a family in Wichita, Kansas, before eventually moving to Beggs, Oklahoma. Sara took great pride in her role as a wife and homemaker and in time, they became the parents of two daughters, Adelyn and Collyn. Sara was not only an amazing wife and mother, but a daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend. In the eyes of those who loved her, she was a true light in this world.  The joy she spread will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known her.  The family expresses their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and asks for your continued prayers.Sara was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Dorothy Powell of Blackton, Arkansas, her grandfather Roy McClain of Indian Bay, Arkansas, and two cousins, Michael McClain of Clanton, Alabama and Nick McClain of Russellville, Arkansas.She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Josh Brown, and their two precious daughters, Adelyn and Collyn, of Beggs, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her loving parents, Stanley and Sandra McClain Powell of Monroe, Arkansas, her grandmother Mildred McClain of Lexa, Arkansas, and brother Stefen Powell (Nikki) of Aubrey, Arkansas, her in-laws, Ray and Kathy Brown of Aberdeen, Arkansas, brother and sister in law, Jeremy and CleAnn Brown of Clarendon, Arkansas and nieces and nephew Blaine Brown of Clarendon, Arkansas, Bennett, Luke and Stevie Kate Powell of Aubrey, Arkansas ( who said look up to the sky, the brightest star shining is Aunt Sara), her two dearest friends, Ashley Spurlock McCoy of Clarendon, Arkansas and Emily Skinner Barton of Ashdown, Arkansas along with her fur baby Sophie,  and a host of extended family members and friends.In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the charity of your choice or the Holly Grove Presbyterian Church, 21305 Hwy 79, Brinkley, Arkansas 72021
