Saundra “Sam” Walker (nee Lamb), 81, passed away Friday, November 28th, 2025 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born on May 22nd, 1944, to Charles & Charlotte (Wilson) Lamb at Fort Chaffee in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She graduated from Mariemont High School in 1962 and had a wonderfully close class who remain connected over 60 years later. Sam went on to earn her Bachelor’s of Art Education K-12 at Miami University in 1966. With her then husband, Daniel T. Walker, Jr., they adopted a baby girl naming her Jennifer Ann.
An avid volunteer, and a member of the Junior League of Cincinnati, she also helped start Friday Nighters for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and was a docent at the Cincinnati Art Museum. After successfully completing chemotherapy in 1999 she volunteered teaching art at the Wellness Community. She painted wall murals in the Sunday School rooms at Armstrong Chapel. She served on the Purdue University Institute for Cancer Research Director’s Advisory Council fundraising for critical cancer research. Nature loving, she enjoyed the ocean at St. Simon’s Island, Georgia, as well as walks at Ault Park in Cincinnati.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Uncle Joe Wilson, and many others.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Jenny Walker McManus (Kevin) whom she adored. Also survived by sister Valerie Garber (David).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, 3183 Linwood Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45208. Complimentary valet parking will be available at the funeral home.
Additional visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th from 9:30 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Old Armstrong Chapel, 5090 Drake Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45243.
A private burial service will be held for the family.
