Memories of you will live in my heart forever.

Christina and Chuck, Although I did not know Scotty personally, I know he was a champion here on earth and I am so sorry for yours, Dawn's and little Scotty's loss. You have all been in my prayers daily and I continue to pray for you to find peace and comfort from those that surround you. I know you are all so terribly heartbroken but you are loved by so many who care deeply about you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Prayed for Scotty daily. Our son, Cline III, worked with Scotty at GFD. Scotty made a positive impact on many people.

NAME: SCOTTY LEE RICHARDS, Sr.

Scotty Lee Richards Sr., 37, of Grover, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, May 20, 2017 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. He was born July 26th, 1979 in Spartanburg SC. Scotty served in the fire service for 24 years. He is a retired Lieutenant with the City of Gaffney Fire Department, and served as Assistant Chief with Grover Volunteer Fire Department. Scotty was a state certified Emergency Medical Technician. He has received many commendations in the fire service including two Maltese Warrior Awards and Life Saving Award. Scotty was also a fire service instructor at the South Carolina Fire Academy and Cleveland Community College. During his off-duty time, Scotty was the shop foreman at ICR Electric in Shelby NC. Scotty was a devoted husband to his wife Dawn and a loving father to his son, Lil Scotty. Scotty’s selfless giving will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Scotty is survived by numerous other Family and Friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, May 24th, 2017, First Baptist Church, Grover NC at 3:00 PM. Officiated by Pastor Caleb Burkholder

VISITATION: Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM.
