Shannon Denice Upton, age 55 of Piedmont, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1970 in St. Louis, the daughter of James and Barbara (Bennett) Upton.
Shannon was resilient, brave, and full of life. Her contagious personality. Laughter, and a smile could brighten even the darkest day. To all who knew her, she was truly a miracle- someone whose strength and spirit inspired everyone around her.
Through life presented challenges, Shannon never let them define her. Even with her being in a wheelchair, she lived everyday with joy, determination, and grace. Her kindness knew no bounds, always offering help and comfort to anyone in need. She had an incredible gift for making others smile and feel loved.
The Lewis and Upton families remember Shannon as one of a kind- strong willed, compassionate, and courageous. She faced each day with a smile and a heart full of love. Her impact will live on forever in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her sister, Lisa Lewis and her husband Matthew of Piedmont; nieces and nephew, Jadon Williams, Halley Lewis, Ariana Woolsey, Amanda Lewis; along with many cousins and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in the New Prospect Cemetery in Silva.
