Sharon Sue Foster, age 83, of Post, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1941, in Honey Grove, Texas, to Claude Arvey and Eona Bell Redman.
Sue married the love of her life, Cecil M. Foster Jr., in 1960. Together they built a home filled with love and respect, and faithfully shared 65 years of marriage. A devoted wife and homemaker, Sue was known for always having a hot meal on the table at 6:00 each evening, a rhythm of family life that reflected her care and devotion.
As a mother, Sue was the heart of her home. She and Cecil raised three sons, and her house quickly became a gathering place not only for her children but for all their friends. Known affectionately as “Mamma Sue,” she welcomed everyone with snacks, warm meals, and even warmer conversations. Sue was a thoughtful listener who truly cared about people, and she never missed a game or event in which her sons or grandsons participated.
Sue is survived by her husband, Cecil M. Foster Jr.; her sons, David Foster and wife Carla; and Daryl Foster and wife Lyndie; her grandchildren, Jace Foster and wife Malory, Brock Foster, Luke Foster, and Zach Foster; and her great-grandchildren, Henry, Shepherd, and Georgia Jane.
She is also survived by her siblings, Betty Redman and Charlie Redman. She was preceded in death by her son Danny Foster; her siblings Margie Redman and Ray Dale Redman, as well as her sister-in-law Debbie Redman.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Tanglewood Assisted Living, especially O.T. Carrillo, Amber Saldano, and Mercedez Rodriguez, for their compassion, kindness, and devoted care to Sue during her time there.
“Sue’s love, laughter, and wisdom will forever be carried in the hearts she touched.”
Her legacy will be remembered as one of compassion, faithfulness, and hospitality.
